EMPTY SHOP FRONT PERFORMANCE ART:
In the New Year will will be looking to Stage Our 'SLEEPING BEAUTY ' in an Empty Shop Front in York's City Centre ...
...We want to explore duration in performance challenging ourselves to keep this space alive, exploit the nature of the space and challenge how people interact with performance.
We aim to work with creative lighting designers/ installation artists on the piece as well as visual and video artists.
We are looking for a community minded landlord to donate the usage of an empty shop for a weekend.
We’re looking for volunteers to take get involved as performers, technical crew, a Stage Manager, writer and Lighting and Sound designers. If you’re interested in getting involved, please contact [email protected] .
Rehearsals will take place every Sunday throughout August and into the autumn.
We ran a series of workshops throughout August, which we encouraged any potential performers to come along to or anyone who just wanted to try something new. During this time we introduced devising techniques and explored physical performance.

Sunday 6th September – Audition Workshop
Rehearsals began on Sunday 20th September 1pm – 3pm and take place weekly on Sunday afternoons (times tbc).
